Massimiliano d’Addario is currently the fourth generation of artisans in the hilly area of Pianella d’Abruzzo and the son of Marina.
He started the winemaking process in 2009 with Montepulciano wines. The wines Massimiliano are producing are modernly described as Glou-Glou wines. He himself describes his light red as his breakfast wine. ;)
The area of Pianella is covered in vineyards which lie on a limestone clay ground surrounded by the olive groves.
He and his family are maybe more known for their olive oil production which is considered as one of the best in the world and found on several Michelin restaurants.
The vineyards consist of four hectares of Montepulciano, Pecorino and Passerina. The beliefs are minimal intervention in both the vineyard and the cellar, hence, no So2 added, no filtration and spontaneous fermentation.
