17.9.26 · Sicily, bottle by bottle
For the first tasting of the autumn, we'll dive into the southern Italian island of Sicily, where wine has been made for more than 6,000 years. An island that has been influenced by many different cultures throughout history, from the first winegrowers and the Greek influence to the Romans spreading Sicilian wine throughout the empire, as well as the Arab period with alcohol prohibition and more limited wine production.
Sicily has enormous diversity when it comes to wine and is home to many old local grape varieties that are rarely found anywhere else. At the tasting, we will explore what Etna has to offer and what can be found in the flatter areas further west.
We will taste our way through 5 wines, sparkling, white and red, with plenty of variation in both style and expression.
An evening for anyone curious about discovering new wines, or perhaps already in love with Sicilian wine.
The tasting starts between 5:00 and 5:30 pm, lasts around 1.5 hours and costs DKK 300 per person.
There will also be 20% off all the wines you taste during the evening. So come and taste 5 different wines that could easily have cost more than twice as much in a restaurant.
We keep it informal, but informative, and of course there is plenty of time for all your questions. We serve each group individually, so there is no need to stress if you arrive a little late. It is only your friends who will be waiting for you.
