Azienda Agricola Greco Mirone

Italy · Sicily · Riposto

On the eastern side of Sicily, at the foot of Mount Etna near the town of Riposto, lies Azienda Agricola Greco Mirone – a small natural wine project focused on local grape varieties and minimal intervention. The winery is led by Rosario Greco, and the wines are produced in small quantities with clear inspiration from Etna’s growing natural wine movement.

Greco Mirone works exclusively with native Sicilian grape varieties. The red wines are mainly based on Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio, while the white wines focus on varieties such as Carricante and Catarratto.

The project describes its wines as natural wines from Etna, made with deep respect for both terroir and grape character. Vinification follows a low-intervention approach with very limited sulfur use, something also reflected in the estate’s participation in RAW WINE fairs, where producers follow strict principles for natural and organic wine production.

Today, Etna is considered one of Italy’s most exciting wine regions, where volcanic soils, high-altitude vineyards, and dramatic temperature shifts between day and night create wines with freshness, minerality, and tension. At Greco Mirone, the wines clearly reflect this identity – vibrant expressions with energy, saline minerality, and a strong connection to Etna’s volcanic landscape.
