Rondière Rouge is a natural and fresh red wine from Domaine Clos de l'Épinay in the heart of the Loire region of Vouvray, made from a lively blend of Grolleau, Gamay and Côt (Malbec). The winery was revived by Antoine and Henri, who work organically/biodynamically and let the grapes speak for themselves by vinifying without filtration, clarification or added sulphur. 2023 is the domaine's first vintage for this cuvée, and it displays a juicy and accessible style with pure fruit and lively energy from slate and limestone soils. A wine that combines the finesse of the terroir with great drinking pleasure.

Domaine Clos de l´Epinay

France · Loire · Vouvray

The winery was created by Antoine and Henri and consists of 18 hactares. It is located at the end of the first hill of Vouvray, a very old winemaking region in Loire dating back to medieval times.

Clos de l'Epinay is located on the Vouvray ridge line. The vines surrounding it benefit from many different slope orientations allowing fine modifications of the terroir. There are defined 10 terroirs on the Domaine, each having its own winemaking route. Clay and limestone are the main soil types.

The core of the estate is Chenin Blanc, however, they cultivate 1 ha of red grape varieties: Pinot Noir, Gamay, Grolleau and a coupçon of Malbec.

All vines are grown organic and biodynamic and in the cellar the wines are vinified without intervention or sulphites. 2023 is their first vintage and it already shows great promise. We are looking forward to see the project growing and try many more wines from Antoine and Henri.
