Clos Palet is a historic single vineyard from Domaine Clos de l’Épinay in Vouvray, where Antoine and Henri work with vibrant Chenin Blanc from some of the Loire Valley’s classic limestone terroirs. The vineyard is planted on cool clay soil over limestone, giving the wine depth, freshness, and the distinctive tension that makes Vouvray so beloved. The wine is made without added sulphur, fining, or filtration. The magnum format allows the wine to develop more slowly and makes it ideal for both ageing and long lunches with fish, light meat, vegetables or cheese.

Domaine Clos de l´Epinay

France · Loire · Vouvray

The winery was created by Antoine and Henri and consists of 18 hactares. It is located at the end of the first hill of Vouvray, a very old winemaking region in Loire dating back to medieval times.

Clos de l'Epinay is located on the Vouvray ridge line. The vines surrounding it benefit from many different slope orientations allowing fine modifications of the terroir. There are defined 10 terroirs on the Domaine, each having its own winemaking route. Clay and limestone are the main soil types.

The core of the estate is Chenin Blanc, however, they cultivate 1 ha of red grape varieties: Pinot Noir, Gamay, Grolleau and a coupçon of Malbec.

All vines are grown organic and biodynamic and in the cellar the wines are vinified without intervention or sulphites. 2023 is their first vintage and it already shows great promise. We are looking forward to see the project growing and try many more wines from Antoine and Henri.
