Galicien
In Ribeira Sacra in Galicia, wine is grown on some of Spain's most dramatic terraces, where steep slopes drop down towards the Sil and Miño rivers. Lousas Viñas de Aldea is Envínates' village wine from the area: primarily Mencía from old vines, blended with local varieties from several small plots on slate, granite, and gneiss. Mencía gives the wine red fruit, fresh acidity, and floral lightness, while the cool, Atlantic conditions and the stony soil give a salty, mineral, and almost Burgundian character. An organic and biodynamically grown low-intervention red wine from Galicia with both juiciness, depth, and distinct mountain energy.
