The story
The idea behind VINTRO was to create a winestore with room for curiosity, informal and perhaps even nerdy wine talk with our guests. We fill our shelves with lively, natural wines with lots of personality, and we never get tired of exploring the endless possibilities and flavours these types of wine can offer. We believe in our products and their ability to become the best version with minimal intervention, and that’s the reason our store is called VINTRO, which directly translated from Danish means WINE FAITH. And if you love wine just as much as us and can’t contain your curiosity, please to come by our store.
A small contribution
Wine have been a part of human life for thousands of years and it has been harvested and fermented since the stone age. At first there was thousands of different grape variations, but globalization have had a catastrophic effect on the diversity and now we down to eight dominant grapes varieties. Numerous local grapes have been replaced with so called global varieties and that is a great loss for the curious wine lovers all over the world. We hope to make a small contribute to put this trend to an end and that’s why we promote grape varieties and wines that gives a diversity of unknown and intriguing savours.
Our choice
Because of the increased competition on the wine market most farmers now use a large amount of inorganic fertilizer, pesticides, and sulphite, when they grow, ferment, and refine wine.
It’s not sustainable and we want to contribute to a development, where the farmers and their families also can live next to the vineyards. So, when we find our products, we always challenge ourselves to select wines grown with as little chemistry added as possible and to the best price.
Our winemakers’ farms organic and biodynamic and we think that’s the best way to ensure clean wine and ultimately a balanced and sustainable long-term production.
Our passion for wine has brought us all over Europe, where you can find some of the world’s best and wide range of wine. You will only find products from Europe at VINTRO hence we don’t see any reason to ship from all over the world when Europe has it all. Think global, buy local.
