Borgogno Rivata

Italy · Piedmont · La Morra

The Borgogno Rivata winery consists of three people.

Samuele Fontanone is the youngest part of the company and takes care of the vineyard, following its natural cycle with patience and great respect.
Alberto Borgogno was born and raised in La Morra, he has always worked in the cellar with his father and uncle. He understands the history and heritage of their local area. Massimo Rivata and his family have cultivated the soil in the Roero area. He is the connection between Alberto and Samuele, coordinating the meeting points between the vineyard and the cellar.

Alberto took over the winery from his uncle in 1993, 17 years after Massimo married Alberto's sister and became a part of the family. They both grew up in the local area and winemaking was always a part of their lives. In 2010, they decided to merge the activities and founded Borgogno Rivata. Samuele joined the winery in 2020 and is the nephew of Massimo. They have a nice family project working 6 hectares of vines together.

Their wines are modern and fresh, but still clean and classic expressions of each variety. They use indigenous yeast and minimal intervention. The whole winery is in organic conversion.
